LC096 -- Is an additional chlorine addition still necessary when using Lotus Clean Shock?

We have had an outdoor whirlpool since November 2020. Until now we have used chlorine for disinfection. We have been using your Lotus Clean Basic and Lotus Clean Shock products for about two weeks. The question now arises as to whether I still need to add chlorine when using Lotus Clean Shock? Can this be omitted or reduced?

Answer:
If you use the Lotus Clean water care system, you do not need any additional chlorine. It is a fully-fledged system that does not need to be supported by further disinfection or oxidation agents. If you want to use additional chlorine for cost reasons, then that is possible. Lotus Clean products can be used in combination with chlorine. However, you must ensure that you only use chlorine products without cyanuric acid. In other words, no organic chlorine. Cyanuric acid accumulates in the water and also impairs the effectiveness of Lotus Clean Shock.

However, you can use so-called inorganic chlorine (available from us as "Anorganic Shock"). It is also called Calcium Hypochlorite Granulate. However, this chlorine increases the water hardness. Therefore, it is not recommended for hard water.
