It is possible to use Lotus Clean System Wash in a whirlpool with a sand filter system. However, System Wash would have to be completely rinsed out of the sand afterwards. If this does not happen, foam would form in the whirlpool water. In this case, both the whirlpool water and the sand would have to be changed.
For this reason, we recommend turning off the sand filter and closing the valve if possible when cleaning with Lotus Clean System Wash - so that the sand filter does not even come into contact with the system wash. The sand itself should then be cleaned with a relatively strong dosage of Lotus Clean Shock and then backwashed.
