Lotus Clean electronic pH tester

For accurate measurement of the pH value for your hot tub

The measuring device has a probe that can be calibrated precisely. We supply you with 2x ready-made calibration fluid for this purpose. You can find out how to calibrate your device correctly below.

Maintenance and storage

If you have not used the pH tester for a long time and the measuring diode has been exposed to air, the display may show values slowly or irregularly. Place the pH tester with the measuring diode in water for a few hours. Please note: The measuring diode is fragile and should be handled with care.

Low battery charge

If the display is blurred or no longer visible, the battery should be replaced. Ensure that the polarity is correct. Battery type: 2 × 1.5 V (LR44 button cell).

Calibration

  • Switch on the pH tester.
  • Immerse the measuring diode in the calibration solution.
  • Press the ‘CAL’ button for 5 seconds. When the display shows 7.0, the pH tester is calibrated.
  • Calibrate the pH tester every 4 weeks.

Operation

Remove the protective cap and switch on the device using the switch on the top. Be sure to calibrate the device when using it for the first time and then every 4 weeks.

To take a measurement, immerse the measuring diode in the water and move the device gently back and forth. Leave it immersed until the displayed value no longer changes.

After taking the measurement, close the cap over the wet measuring diode. The measuring diode must not be allowed to dry out. Then switch off the device.

Note

The calibration fluid can only be used once. In its sealed packaging, it has a pH value of 7.0. Once opened, it can absorb carbon dioxide from the air, which can change the pH value.

After calibration, you can measure tap water as a reference value. This pH value is largely constant and can be used for control purposes. If you keep the probe moist at all times and close the cap over the wet probe, calibration is likely to be necessary only every two to three months.

Inserting batteries

  • There is a recess on the back for pulling out the battery compartment.
  • Remove the battery compartment.
  • Insert the button cells.
  • Both button cells must have the ‘+’ side facing left.
  • Press both batteries into the compartment.
  • Reinsert the battery compartment into the pH tester.
